Barrier Glands for Mining  PROTEX TR and TR/F



Application

Wire braided cables (extruded or tape bedded). Wherever circumstances dictate a "barrier gland" type is required.


Standards/Approvals

Designed generally to BS 6121.
Certified to BS 4683 (part 2) and BS 5501 (part 5).
FLP Certificate No. 865014 U. (Gp.1.)

Fitting Instructions

These are supplied with every gland kit.
Available seperately on request.

IP Ratings

The flanged gland compiles with IP66.
The screwed entry gland is normally rated at IP54 but can be enhanced to IP66 by the inclusion of an "O" ring as an optional, factory - fitted, extra. (prices and delivery details available on request)
Adequate sealing arrangements must be made between the gland and the enclosure.

Sizing Procedure

Refer to CMP sizing charts for cables to British Coal Spec. Nos 295 and 504.
For other cable types the table below will assist in selecting the correct size.
The choice of screwed or spigot entry and metric or imperial diametres will depend upon the host enclosure. In the event of any difficulty with sizing, Victor would be pleased to assist.
